Srinagar: The Coordination Committee Bemina held a meeting last month in which it was decided by the local committee to enhance graveyard rates in the locality.
As per the approved minutes of the meeting held on June 18, the executive body of the committee decided on the enhancement of the graveyard rates to allocate graveyard to the applicants from Bemina.
In the context of the high market rates and overall inflation scenario, Coordination Committee Bemina Srinagar decided the enhance the rates for its graveyard near Anjum Masjid. The enhanced rates shall be applied from June 01, 2022.
The Chairman, General Secretary and Advisor are authorized persons to examine the applicant’s form for the graveyard allocation and the decision of the Chairman shall be binding upon the applicant.
The respective Mohalla President shall inform the committee whether the decedents of the dead have graveyard in the graveyard of the coordination committee or not and whether they are presently residing at Bemina or not. Furthermore, he will certify the available land of the house of decedents.
The residents having one kanal of land have to pay Rs 22100; residents having 15 Marla have to pay Rs 18100; residents having 10 to 14 Marla have to pay Rs 15100; residents having land 6 to 9 Marla have to pay Rs 12100 while residents having land up to 5 Marla have to pay Rs 8100.
It is further ordered that the graveyard holders must pay Rs 200 annually for maintenance of graveyard, chokidar, driver and mortuary vehicle maintenance.
The same can be deposited with the finance secretary of Coordination Committee Bemina Srinagar.
