Srinagar November 04: Dr. Hina Shafi Bhat, Vice-Chairperson J&K Khadi & Village Industries Board on Friday inaugurated four (4) day Khelo India Wushu Women’s Zonal League as Chief Guest, organized by Wushu Association of India in collaboration with Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports (MYAS), Sports Authority of India (SAI) at SKISC Stadium, Srinagar.
The Vice-Chairperson, J&K KVIB was given warm welcome by the concerned officers and officials.
Vice-Chairperson at first interacted with various women athletes, who put-forth their grievances and she assured them for early redressal of these grievances.
She was informed that approximately 500
women athletes from different teams of 8 States/UTs – Chandigarh, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Ladakh, Uttrakhand, Jammu & Kashmir, and Delhi– will participate in the championship.
Dr Hina Shafi Bhat appreciated the initiative of Wushu Association of India, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports (MYAS), Sports Authority of India (SAI) and Sports Council of UT J&K for organizing the Khelo India Wushu Women’s Championship in Srinagar.
She further said that these initiatives by the Government of UT, J&K will not only provide jobs to the athletes under Sports Quota but will also shape the Naya Jammu Kashmir by helping in eradicating the evils of the Society.
