Srinagar, 7 Nov (KB):As predicted earlier by Meteorological department Rains lash plains of Jammu and Kashmir while higher reaches of Kashmir received moderate Snowfall.
Officials said, Rains occurred at most places of J&K with snowfall over higher reaches, No large change in weather conditions is expected today.
Director Meteorological center Srinagar Sonam Lotus told Kashmir Bulletin — KB, Generally cloudy weather with Light snow may occur over higher reaches on 8th of November although chances are less.
Widespread Rain/Snowfall is likely over higher reaches on 9th to 11th November, he said.
From 11th onwards we Expect improvement in weather across J&K, Lotus said.
Snowfall & low temperature may led to temporary disruption of surface transportation, mainly over Zojila, Jmu-Srinagar HW, Leh-Manali oad etc. On 7th & 9-11th November, he said.
Prior to embark on the journey, Know the status of the road from Traffic police to avoid inconveniences.
Travellers on major passes are advised to carry sufficient food items, warm shoes, clothes etc. With them as road conditions remain uncertain during inclement weather, he added.
Meanwhile reports reaching here said, famous tourist resort Gulmarg received around 1feet of Snow, Machil in Kupwara received 4 inches of Snow till early morning today. (Kashmir Bulletin — KB)
