KARNAH PREMIER VOLLLEYBALL LEAGUE INAUGRATED
Another mega sporting event, Karnah Premier Volleyball League commenced today here at Chhamkot. The league will span almost a month with 16 teams participating in it. The event is being organized by Shakti Vijay Brigade of Indian Army and ably supported by youth volunteers of All JK Youth Society for organizational support. The exhibition cum inaugural match was played between Indian Army XI and Karnah XI which was viewed by hundreds of spectators.
Prior to the inaugural volleyball match, a musical program was also organized in which star attraction was the foot tapping performances by Waqar Khan, a renowned singer who hails from Karnah. Besides Shining Karnah Band a local rock band formed by youths also performed in addition to electrifying bhangra performance by the troops. The crowds thoroughly enjoyed the musical show.
The event willl be played on league basis which will be conducted at multiple locations throughout the tehsil with semifinals to be played at Tithwal and Nachiyan and finals being played at Chhamkot. The finals will be played on 21 August, the month when India celebrates its 75 years of Independence. During the league a special emphasis will be laid on creating awareness against drug abuse especially aimed at youths as a follow up to the campaign started on 26 June. Volleyball will be followed by a Kabaddi Premier League in Karnah and will be organized on similar way.
Covid-19 protocols will be followed strictly throughout the premier league.
