Delhi extends Covid-19 lockdown by a week till May 3: CM Arvind Kejriwal
25 Aprail 2021 : Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal said on Sunday the ongoing lockdown in the national capital has been extended by another week and will continue to till May 3 to curb the spread of the coronavirus disease (Covid-19).
As the overall Covid-19 disease situation is worsening in Delhi and hospitals are facing acute shortage of oxygen supplies to treat the infected patients, senior government officials told Hindustan Times on Saturday that the Delhi government might extend the ongoing week long lockdown by at least one more week. The previous lockdown is set to end on Monday.
Delhi on Saturday added 357 deaths due to Covid-19, the highest ever single day spike while 24,103 new cases took the caseload to 1,004,782, according to the health department’s bulletin.
