Weather Update 10:30 p.m :Moderate to Heavy Rain/Snow likley in parts of J&K, Ladakh for next 18 Hrs: Kashmir Weather
There has been a lot of uncertainty in weather and as such forecast was delayed.
Now, as per the best possible forecast (taking into account the previous 12 hrs weather pattern, which doesn’t match with the forecasts given by any of the weather models), moderate to heavy rain/snow is expected over parts of North Kashmir during the next 18 hrs.
It is very likely, higher reaches of Baramulla, Bandipora and Kupwara may receive heavy snowfall.
Moderate to heavy snowfall is also possible over higher reaches of Ganderbal and Anantnag(for parts located in the north, like Pahalgam)
The weather activities will start picking up in the coming hours and may remain most active during the early morning hours to tomorrow afternoon.
Chances of snowfall in plains of north Kashmir = 50%
For Central and South Kashmir = 20 – 50%.
Gusty winds, along with lightning and thunder, are possible at a few places.
Improvement in weather is expected first from north Kashmir and eventually from south Kashmir, as the weather system will move eastwards.
For Jammu region, light to moderate thundershowers are possible at many places, along with the possibility of snowfall over higher reaches.
Moderate snowfall is likely at many places in Kargil district till tomorrow evening.
Light snow showers can occur at a few places in Leh district.
