Srinagar, Dec 24 (KB): Local drivers staged a protest at press enclave Srinagar, alleged that their cabs are being siezed without any reason by traffic department.
As per Kashmir Bulletin–(KB), cab drivers said that, our taxies ply from Budgam to Srinagar, and from Magam to Srinagar, we pay our taxes, we have permission to drive our taxies on any road all over Jammu and Kashmir, then why are we being stopped when we enter Srinagar City.
“We are being stopped for no reason, our vehicles are being seized, whenever we ask the reason, traffic policeman don’t bother to answer they simply seize our vehicles. They don’t even issue us seizing order copy of our Vehicles,” drivers said.
We are being stopped at multiple locations like, By-pass Srinagar, JVC Bemina Srinagar and at many places. If they want that we should not ply our taxies, then they must give us some other job.

Another driver told KB that, I am not a driver by profession but my hardships forced me to do so, I am the soul bread earner of my family, please tell me where shall I go. Now i request the higher authorities to please look into this matter and help us. (Kashmir Bulletin–KB)
