Sopore, Aug 17 (KB): A few hours after a similar protest at GMC Srinagar, doctors and staff at the Sub District Hospital, Sopore, hit the hospital premises today to demand justice for the brutal rape and murder of a Kolkata doctor.
Reports reaching the Kashmir Bulletin (KB) said that holding placards bearing messages of Justice for Victim, Justice for RG Kar, and End Violence Against Women, the participants of the SDH Sopore Doctors and demonstrated today.
They raised slogans demanding immediate action against the culprits and also highlighted the need for improving security measures.
The agitating protesters shouted slogans such as ‘No Security, No Duty,’ borrowed from the GMC Srinagar agitation, as they tried to underline their concerns pertaining to personal security and better protective measures for healthcare workers and women.
A trainee doctor at SDH Sopore said, “we stand united in our demand for justice and safety. The tragic loss of a doctor underscores the urgent need for stronger protective measures and accountability. We will not rest until our voices are heard and justice is served.”—(KB)
