Authorities Deny Funeral Prayers for Dr. Sibtain Masoodi, Father-in-law of Mirwaiz Kashmir, at Jama Masjid Srinagar
Srinagar, Feb 27 (KB): Authorities have decided not to allow funeral prayers of Dr. Sibtain Masoodi, father-in-law of Mirwaiz Kashmir Dr Moulvi Umer Farooq, at Jama Masjid Nowhatta Srinagar, sources disclosed.
The sources told news agency Kashmir Bulletin that the authorities have decided so as to apparently ‘prevent any law and order situation’ in the area.
“The family of Dr. Sibtain has also been conveyed about the decision by the authorities,” they said.
Pertinent to mention here that the family of Dr. Sibtain Masoodi, who also happens to be the brother of incumbent MLA Pampore Justice (Retd) Hasnain Masoodi, had announced the funeral prayers at Jama Masjid Srinagar after Zuhr (afternoon) prayers today. (KB)
