Srinagar, 08 Nov (KB): Police on Tuesday said, they have arrested one Lashker-e-Toiba militants associate in Awantipora, a police spokesperson said.
According to a statement issued to Kashmir Bulletin–(KB), a spokesperson said that police along with security forces have arrested a hybrid militant of proscribed militants outfit LeT in Awantipora and recovered incriminating materials including ammunition from his possession.
“Police along with security forces during naka checking at Ladoo Awantipora arrested a hybrid militant linked with proscribed militants outfit LeT and recovered incriminating materials including a Grenade from his possession. He has been identified as Abid Ahmad Sheikh son of Abdul Aziz Sheikh resident of Satpokharen,” said a spokesperson.
“During preliminary investigation, it came to fore that the arrested hybrid militant was in close touch with LeT Commanders and was involved in transportation of arms & ammunition,” he added.
Accordingly, “a case vide FIR No. 69/2022 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Khrew and further investigation has been taken up.” (Kashmir Bulletin–KB)
